GEKKO MIAMI

Inside the $1,000 Japanese Steakhouse Experience at Bad Bunny’s Gekko in Miami

“What’s the most expensive thing on the menu?”
Answer: A Japanese steakhouse experience that’ll run you a thousand dollars—and honestly? Worth every bite.

At Gekko, Bad Bunny’s ultra-luxe restaurant in Brickell, the experience starts before the first plate hits the table. With decor straight out of Kill Bill and a vibe that screams “celebrity hotspot,” you better come dressed to impress.

Now onto the food.

We kicked things off with Japanese milk bread—warm, fluffy, perfectly seasoned. Honestly? Texas Roadhouse better watch its back. The edamame? Seasoned so well you’d think someone's abuela was in the kitchen.

Then came a show of small plates:

  • Oysters (still not a fan, but the toppings helped)

  • Bluefin tuna tacos

  • Tuna tartare on wonton crisps—probably the best I’ve had

  • Hamachi crudo—bright, fresh, unexpectedly flavorful

  • Chutoro and Otoro with caviar—yes, caviar on top of melt-in-your-mouth fatty tuna

And the main event? Japanese A5 Wagyu on a sizzling hot stone. That sear, that melt-in-your-mouth texture—it was flavor on a whole different level. Every bite was rich, buttery, and perfectly indulgent.

Oh—and did I mention the $800 cocktail? Yeah, that happened.

Final Verdict:
Gekko is more than just a restaurant—it’s a full-on luxury experience. From the food to the service to the high-energy, high-end vibe, I’m giving it a 9.25/10.
Bad Bunny, you really did that.
